The Career Counsellor supports students in making informed academic and career decisions by providing guidance, resources, and counselling related to higher education, vocational options, and career planning. The role involves working closely with students, parents, and teachers to ensure students are well-prepared for future study and employment pathways, aligned with their strengths, interests, and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities



1.The College Counsellor

Serves as an advocate in assisting students with academic, personal and social needs

Provides guidance in college and career planning

Works closely with each student in a variety of school-wide, classroom, small-group and individual meetings



2. The College Counsellor as a School Guidance

Provide personalized, student-centered program that informs and supports both students and parents

Cpllege Counsellor help students discover college or university communities that will serve their academic and personal growth

College Counsellor helps the parents and students extensively about preparing the college or university search process, completing applications and ultimately selecting a college or university

The degree of guidance increases and becomes more specialized as students advance through Year 9 to 12

Communication with families is done through group meetings with parents and students at all four year levels, emails, publications, the school website, and most importantly in individual guidance sessions


Qualifications:

Qualifications:

o BA degree (at minimum)

o Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, e-mail, internet, and content management systems

o Good communication skills and interpersonal skills

o Ability to multitask and work under pressure for key deadlines

o Native English speaker

o Experienced in A-Level curricula
