Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) is a major internationalized university in South China for its global-minded faculty/students and its research on international languages, literature, culture, trade and strategic studies. The University serves nearly 20,000 full-time undergraduate students, nearly 5,000 graduate students and over 30,000 international and continuing-education students. The University has 22 faculties offering 67 programs in literature, economics, management, law, engineering, science, education and art for bachelor, master and doctoral degrees and post-doctoral research.
Responsibilities:
1. Offer courses in Portuguese as a foreign language; class preparation and development of didactic material; support for pedagogical project to train teachers in Portuguese as a foreign language; orientation of undergraduate thesis; support in communication work with CPLP partner institutions; participation in student activities
2. Portuguese language (Basic to advanced); Portuguese-speaking countries history and culture; Portuguese-speaking countries literature; Portuguese-Chinese interpreting (as an assistant teacher in the classroom)
Qualifications:
1. Degree in Literature, at least a Master's degree (Doctorate recommended) in Portuguese, applied linguistics or literature of Portuguese-speaking countries; ability to organize and teach Portuguese language, literature and Brazilian culture courses; scientific production appropriate to the position to be held
2. Preference will be given to candidates who prove: work experience with the Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese Language for Foreigners - CELPE-Bras (research, application, preparation of students), proven by an institution linked to CELPE-Bras; b) Knowledge of Brazilian literature, Brazilian culture, intercultural studies, literary studies, translation and interpretation; c) Ability to develop teamwork; d) Fluency in English, or also in Chinese, desirable, proven by a certificate of proficiency
