Instant Tax Refunds Now Available at Two More Stores in Beijing

Recently, Beijing has two more stores designated to pilot the "immediate tax refund upon purchase" service, namely Yansha Outlets and Beijing Yixi New World Department Store Co., Ltd. So far, there are a total of 16 stores piloting this service in Beijing.

In 2019, Beijing Municipal Tax Service issued the Notice of Conducting Pilot Programs of Facilitating Tax Refund Services for Purchases Made by Overseas Travelers in China. According to the Notice, after purchasing tax-refundable items at a tax refund store piloting the "immediate tax refund upon purchase" service in Beijing, and obtaining the VAT invoice and the tax refund application form according to the relevant regulations, travelers can apply at the refund store on the same day to receive an amount of cash in CNY equivalent to the actual VAT amount refunded for the purchased tax-refundable items.
