The 2025 World Youth Development Forum opened in Suzhou today, with young people from over 100 countries and 17 international organizations participating. The forum, themed "Unleash Youth Potential for Global Development," is co-hosted by the All-China Youth Federation, United Nations in China, and the organizing committee of the forum.
At the opening ceremony, youth representatives from 10 countries announced the International Youth Advocacy on Unleashing Youth Potential for Global Development, which summarizes the achievements in youth development and engagement since the World Programme of Action for Youth was adopted by the United Nations in 1995 and calls on the global community to embrace new challenges and provide youth wisdom and plans to address the deficiencies in global governance.
The forum released the second batch of the Action Plan for Global Youth Development's exemplary actions. The Global Youth Development Project Week was also initiated to select and promote outstanding projects worldwide in such fields as poverty eradication, food security, digital technology for the future, youth health and well-being, and youth employment.
Three thematic forums on green consumption and sustainable development, AI and sci-tech innovation, and cultural heritage conservation, respectively, will be held, along with activities including the training camp for the Global Youth Development Project Week, project matchmaking sessions, and exchange visits.
Since its launch in 2022, the World Youth Development Forum has been held for four consecutive years, fostering mutual learning and solidarity among global young people and helping them contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
