Hubei, Hong Kong boost tourism ties with new deals and routes

The Zhiyin Hubei (Hong Kong) Culture and Tourism Promotion & Enterprises Matchmaking Meeting was held in Hong Kong on April 27, 2026, aiming to deepen practical cooperation between the two sides.
The event was attended by over 120 participants, including officials from the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Hong Kong, tourism associations, travel agencies, online platforms, airlines and media.
At the event, Hubei unveiled 70 selected travel routes tailored for the Hong Kong and Macao markets, covering classic tours like the "Shen-Wu-Xia" ecological tourism route and the "Jingzhou-Xiangyang-Suizhou" cultural heritage route, as well as season-themed products such as cherry blossom viewing in spring and skiing in winter.
A package of preferential policies was also announced, including a special "10-year pass" for Hong Kong visitors to six major scenic spots in Shennongjia. The pass allows unlimited free access for a decade from the date of first use.
In order to make travel between Hubei and Hong Kong smoother and more hassle-free, Wuhan Tianhe International Airport will offer air and high-speed rail transfer services that enable travelers to fly from Hong Kong to Wuhan in just two hours.
Seven key cooperation agreements were signed at the event, focusing on exchange of tourists, product development and channel sharing. More than 120 travel agencies from Hubei and Hong Kong were engaged in face-to-face business talks.
Hong Kong has long been one of Hubei's most important source markets for inbound tourists. Industry representatives from both sides expressed strong willingness for further cooperating on study tours, cultural exchanges and multi-destination travel products. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
