Treehouse Coffee with Sunshine Rose Grapes Next to Grape Town

We've long heard about the grapes in Dongxihu — big and sweet. We didn't expect to find a coffee shop right next to the grape town.

Guang·Coffee, located in Dongxihu Julong Lake Ecological Park. It's only a 5-minute drive from Qunli Brigade, the grape town. The coffee shop even has its own grapes — grown by the owner himself.

The café faces the blue Julong Lake, with an over-80-year-old camphor tree spreading a large canopy of shade.

The owner built a wooden viewing deck around the camphor tree, facing Julong Lake. Every evening, the sunset dyes the water into an orange sea — so beautiful you can't look away.

The shop offers Americano, latte, and sparkling water, most under 30 yuan, with generous portions — clearly designed to make people stay longer.

The signature "Lake Light Sparkling Water" is a lake-like blue, perfect for photos; the "Osmanthus Latte" presses osmanthus flowers into the cup, making you feel the autumn vibe with every sip.

After drinking, you simply don't want to leave.

The ecological park has been around for 23 years and covers a large area of over 300 mu (about 50 acres). Fishing, picking lotus seeds, and wading in the stream — enough to keep you busy all afternoon. Then head into the vineyard and pick a bunch of Sunshine Rose grapes at 20 yuan/jin (about 500g) — crisp, sweet, and bursting with juice. (The owner says they're not forced to ripen — all naturally sweet. The picking season lasts until the end of September.)

Glass Houses in the East Lake Forest Framing Mountains and Waters

If you don't want to go too far, right by East Lake, we found three shops at once.

Safari Coffee, located at the Liyuan entrance of East Lake Greenway, is a log cabin that offers tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle. Walk through the dining area and push open the back door — your eyes are met with green. Tall metasequoia trees stand upright, and the lawn is lush green.

The shop hides a perfect photo spot: a huge floor-to-ceiling window that perfectly frames the lotus pond scenery of East Lake. A dirty coffee costs 28 yuan, with thick crema and mellow milk — reasonably priced for a scenic area.

Ride along the Greenway toward Moshan. Next to the Chucheng Fengbiao (Phoenix Symbol of Chu City), Flatmos Coffee (East Lake Moshan Branch) is tucked deep in the forest.

Cross the S-shaped boardwalk. The wooden cabin with floor-to-ceiling windows on all sides captures mountain, lake, and tree views — every seat is the best vantage point.

For first-timers, we recommend "Clouds of East Lake" — cold brew with rooibos tea, with a milk foam floating up like clouds — refreshing and not cloying.

If you head toward Guanggu, there's another Flatmos Coffee (East Lake Forest Study Branch) — a standalone two-story white house in Xiaotang Chunchunse (Spring Scenery of Xiaotang) at Ma'anshan Forest Park, across from the lotus pond.

Push the door open and the aroma of coffee mingles with the scent of paper and ink. Thousands of books line the shelves — grab one and sit for an afternoon. That giant triangular glass window acts like a viewfinder, framing every inch of green outside.

In the backyard, there's a gravel outdoor seating area with white tables and chairs. When the ginkgo leaves turn yellow in autumn, it will be even more beautiful here.

By the end of August, Wuhan is finally cooling down. From August 29 to 31, affected by typhoons, Wuhan will see a rainfall process, easing the high temperatures. The mountains will be cooler, and the breeze under the trees will be lighter.

The spider lilies on Mulan Mountain are blooming brilliantly. The Sunshine Rose grapes at Grape Town are at their sweetest. The lotus ponds at East Lake are still green.

There's still a little bit of summer left — don't waste it in an air-conditioned room.
