About Company:

China Media Group, formally established on April 19, 2018, is one of the largest media conglomerates in the world. It was created through the merger of China Central Television (incorporating China Global Television Network), China National Radio, and China Radio International.

Among CMG’s special productions is the annual Spring Festival Gala, a visual spectacular that in 2019 was watched by 1.1 billion people in China and overseas, of whom 527 million accessed it online.
CMG has laid out the ground-breaking strategic plan of “5G+4K/8K+AI” and assembled the first state-level 5G new media platform. It has pioneered the production and broadcasting techniques in the 8K format. It also established China’s first 4K resolution satellite channel.
CMG has entered into comprehensive cooperation agreements with more than 100 overseas media institutions, establishing varied and broad partnerships in news content sharing, programme co-production, personnel visits, and broadcasting technology exchanges.


Job Profile:

CGTN is seeking an experienced director to join its growing team of dedicated, passionate TV, Culture reporters, editors in Beijing. The ideal candidates should have rich experience filming cultural-related programs and working in a fast-paced environment. You should be positive, energetic, creative and committed to the highest standards. You should also have strong interest in international and Chinese cultural heritages and people, the ability to observe and film from an international perspective and complete the pre-planning of the program. Also, you should be always ready to travel to areas outside of Beijing.

● Responsible for planning contents, writing scripts and determining the overall program artistic expression
● Design attractive visual presentations and formulate the construction requirements of interior scenes
● Organize shooting and recording as well as on-site directing lighting, camera and clothing
● Combine artistic vision with high technical expertise during post-production，and review details of the work
● Have strong interest in international and Chinese cultural heritages and strong communication skills
● Be responsible for new media promotion and dissemination


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
● At least 2 years of relevant experience in directing at an international or national news agency or social media platforms
● Native in English language, proficiency in Mandarin
● Innovative thinking with a sense of network, good artistic aesthetics and unique creative ideas
● Ability to deal with multitask and work as a team player
● BA degree or above
