Suzhou rolls out special bus route for viewing wintersweet flowers

Jan 14, 2026

Suzhou

With wintersweet flowers in full bloom, Suzhou Public Transport Group has launched the customized Tourist Bus Line 83, which connects four prime wintersweet viewing spots (the Humble Administrator's Garden拙政园, Lion Grove Garden狮子林, Lingering Garden留园, and Xiyuan Temple西园寺), providing seamless "high-speed rail + metro + bus" transit services for locals and visitors to enjoy the seasonal floral charm.

Positioning itself as a fragrance-seeking special line, the customized bus line covers core classical gardens in Suzhou's ancient district. Passengers can transfer directly from Suzhou Railway Station or board immediately after exiting Humble Administrator's Garden Suzhou Museum Station on Metro Line 6. They can conveniently reach major wintersweet-viewing spots after getting off the bus.
Bus Stops

  • Humble Administrator's Garden Suzhou Museum Stop
In the Humble Administrator's Garden, the wintersweet flowers near the 36 Pairs of Mandarin Ducks Hall bloom in golden yellow and pink. In Lion Grove Garden, wintersweet flowers bloom in harmony with rockeries and latticed windows. The two gardens are just a 300-meter walk apart, allowing seamless transitions between visits.
  • Lingering Garden Stop
The stop is located at the entrance. The garden's east and west sections feature wintersweet, gray walls, and traditional latticed windows, evoking the artistry of an ink-wash painting.

  • Xiyuan Temple East Stop
The stop is adjacent to Xiyuan Temple. The wintersweet flowers behind the Mahavira Hall are set against yellow temple walls. The pale yellow blossoms and ancient architecture exude a serene charm.
In addition to the four core stops, Tourist Bus Line 83 also connects other popular cultural landmarks in the ancient district, such as Hanshan Temple, Shantang Street, and Suzhou Museum, creating a "one route, multiple attractions" winter travel network.
