
The 2026 Job Fair for Foreigners in Chengdu (Xiamen Focus) was held on April 26 in Chengdu in Sichuan Province, marking the third edition of the event organized by Xiamen since January 2025.
The event was conducted both online and offline, with 37 key employers from Xiamen offering high-level positions such as algorithm experts, research and development engineers, and research fellows, with the highest annual salary reaching 1.5 million yuan ($220,000).

The event attracted nearly 500 foreign professionals, primarily from universities in Chengdu, including Sichuan University, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
Participants hailed from over 30 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Their expertise spanned fields such as electronic information, mechanical engineering, education, and cultural creativity, aligning closely with Xiamen's "4+4+6" modern industrial system.
Luis, an American talent with over a decade of teaching experience, has fond memories of his time in Xiamen. "Xiamen is a coastal city with a pleasant environment, ideal for living, with comprehensive support systems. I am very much looking forward to it," he said, adding he has already identified a teaching position of interest there and plans to engage further.

The event featured 52 employers (37 on-site), including State-owned enterprises, public institutions, private companies, and schools, offering a total of 118 positions with a demand for over 200 individuals.
Ms. Huang, deputy manager of the Human Resources Department at XMXYG Co., Ltd., said the group offers multiple positions for 10 to 20 individuals. The positions are offered to graduates and experienced foreign professionals. "There is significant demand for international commodity trading positions. We hope foreign talents can help us expand our overseas markets, and we need those with Chinese language skills," Huang noted.

The opening ceremony featured an introduction about Xiamen, and its talent policies toward foreign professionals. Notably, Xiamen's foreign talent recruitment workstation in Sichuan University was officially inaugurated. Jointly established by the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security and Sichuan University, this workstation aims to showcase Xiamen's international talent ecosystem comprehensively and support multi-dimensional foreign talent introduction and cultivation services in Xiamen.
