On April 16, Jiangsu (Nanjing) - France Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference was held. Chen Zhichang, Mayor of Nanjing, Joan Valadou, Consul General of France in Shanghai each delivered a speech. Caroline Penard, General Manager of CCI France Chine, Sun Jin, Deputy Director-General and First-level Inspector of Provincial Department of Commerce, and Jiang Min, Vice Mayor of Nanjing, also attended.

Nanjing is an important window for friendly exchanges between China and France. In recent years, Nanjing and France have continuously intensified their cooperation efforts, with large numbers of French-invested enterprises rooted in Nanjing and keeping flourishing. During the conference, Mayor Chen Zhichang extended a warm welcome to all the guests and noted that, with favorable geographical advantages, rich scientific and educational resources, solid industrial foundation, and sound business environment, Nanjing remains popular as a destination for foreign investment, and investing in Nanjing means investing in the future. He hoped for this conference to serve as an opportunity to further boost exchanges and cooperation with all the guests present on industrial technological innovation, modern service industry and green low-carbon transition. By sharing resources and complementing advantages of each other, Nanjing and all the partners will work together with common goals and achieve win-win outcomes. Nanjing will continue to optimize the market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized business environment to provide more efficient, first-rate services for enterprises in Nanjing.
During his speech, French Consul General Joan Valadou stressed that France and China boast a long history of friendly exchanges. Over the years, Nanjing and France have maintained close economic ties and vibrant cultural exchanges. French-invested enterprises have maintained robust growth momentum in Nanjing, with broad prospects for future cooperation. He hoped for the two sides to further boost exchanges and deepen practical cooperation across trade, technology, education, and cultural sectors to achieve mutual prosperity. The Consulate General of France in Shanghai will continue to play a bridging role in providing strong support for the continuously deepened cooperation between Nanjing and France in various fields.
At the conference, the Business Investment Department of the French Consulate General in Shanghai and Gulou District of Nanjing delivered their investment environment promotions respectively, with select guests providing thematic remarks.
