Here comes Tiger Hill Lantern Festival!

Feb 07, 2026

Suzhou  2026.02.11

The Tiger Hill Lantern Festival will officially open to the public on February 11, with an early closure at 5:30 p.m. on February 16 (Chinese New Year's Eve). Under the theme "Lanterns Illuminating Tiger Hill, Fortune Overflowing Gardens," this year's lantern festival invites you to a feast of light and shadow.

As the highlight of Suzhou's winter garden events, the Tiger Hill Lantern Festival breaks away from static displays by blending dazzling lantern installations with dynamic performances.

The lantern festival ingeniously fuses Tiger Hill's natural landscapes with its cultural heritage, combining traditional Zigong lantern craftsmanship with Tiger Hill's contours and Jiangnan garden aesthetics. Multiple themed zones will showcase this harmony.

This year's lantern festival specially features a traditional-style market, interactive "Guofeng (Chinese style) NPCs" stalls, "Dancing Immortal on Drums" performances, and Chinese-style stilt drama parades, allowing visitors to become active participants rather than mere spectators. You can dress in ancient costumes and stroll under the glittering Tiger Hill Pagoda, as if traveling back to Suzhou a thousand years ago.
From the first to the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, people will dress up as the beloved Gods of Fu (Fortune), Lu (Prosperity), and Shou (Longevity) at the Tiger Hill scenic area to offer New Year blessings to visitors. This is a perfect blend of traditional New Year customs and modern garden tours. Come and bring your families to take photos with them and seek auspicious luck for the year ahead.

Additionally, the traditional fish-shaped lantern parade will depart from Xixi Huancui西溪环翠, guiding visitors to key event zones. Professional lion and dragon dance troupes will perform at areas like Wutian Penglang, adding festive vibes to the lantern festival.

During the lantern festival, Tiger Hill will host a Guofeng-themed market, where the most authentic traditional New Year flavors gather. Come and immerse yourselves in the festive spirit of Spring Festival!
