Rail loop line offers new way to explore Wuhan

A new slow-speed rail loop line, operating entirely within Wuhan, will officially launch on March 14, 2026, offering four daily services connecting Wuchang Railway Station, Hankou Railway Station , and Wuhandong Railway Station.

All trains depart from and return to Wuhandong Railway Station. Operated by non-air-conditioned trains, a full loop ticket costs only 6 yuan. A trip between Hankou Railway Station and Wuchang Railway Station takes about 20 minutes and costs 2 yuan, while the journey from Wuchang Railway Station to Wuhandong Railway Station takes around 25 minutes with 3 yuan.
The rail loop line connects iconic landmarks including the Yellow Crane Tower, Yangtze River Bridge, Qingchuan Pavilion, Guishan TV Tower, and East Lake. It provides a new choice for cross-river commuters and a budget-friendly way for tourists to experience the city's famous attractions.
Tickets for the rail loop line went on sale on March 12. In addition, Wuhan has also launched several other affordable non-air-conditioned trains, offering passengers more travel options. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
