A springtime paradise for bird-watchers, Beidaihe — the coastal resort area in Qinhuangdao, Hebei province — has now entered its peak season as a summer retreat, drawing visitors from across the country.
In recent years, local authorities and businesses have partnered with cultural institutions and artists to transform the Bohai Sea shoreline into a vibrant stage for art and theater, enriching the visitor experience while boosting tourism.
One result of these efforts is the Resea Coastal Public Art Season. Its second edition opened on May 26 and runs through Oct 7, bringing a new wave of artistic engagement to the seaside destination.

Titled Together, this year's exhibition features sculptures and installations that invite visitors to explore themes of connection and resonance. Set against the backdrop of sea, sand and sky, the works encourage people to immerse themselves in a dialogue with both nature and one another.
Here, art is more than something to be viewed — it becomes a catalyst for interaction and shared discovery. The coastline, meanwhile, is transformed from a scenic backdrop into a living space where encounters, conversations and collective experiences unfold.
