BJ Library Listed Among Time's 100 Greatest Travel Destinations

Beijing Library, has been named to Time Magazine's 2025 list of 100 Greatest Places to Travel, becoming the first cultural landmark in the city to win this honor.

Time selected Beijing Library as the "most anticipated public library", praising its architecture that integrates elements of Chinese ginkgo trees and the millennium-old Grand Canal, its three-star China Green Building Evaluation Label certification, the world's largest single reading space, China's largest intelligent three-dimensional book repository, and over 3,000 annual events.

Since its opening, the library has received widespread acclaim, welcoming over 4.28 million visitors, and winning awards including the IFLA/Baker & Taylor Public Library of the Year Award and the 2024 DFA Asia's Most Influential Design Award.
The library has leveraged its diverse reading service spaces to host over 3,400 cultural activities, creating an educational, immersive, explorative and interactive cultural journey for visitors. Recently, the library has attracted increasing attention from foreign visitors and media influencers, who have widely praised its design aesthetics, technological innovation, artistic ambiance and engaging visitor experience.
