Longsha medical diagnosis and treatment method was designated as a provincial intangible cultural heritage item in 2016.

Origin

Longsha medicine originated during the Song and Yuan dynasties (960-1368), developed further in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), and experienced a revival in the late Qing and the Republic of China period (1911-49). With over 700 years of history, it is a major school within traditional Chinese medicine. Its name derives from Bailong Mountain and Shashan Mountain in Huashi (formerly Huashu), Jiangyin, together called "Longsha".

Theory

This school highlights how natural changes affect human health and encourages harmony with nature by guiding the body to adapt to natural cycles through medication and behavioral practices.

Application

At the Longsha Medical Diagnosis and Treatment Center of Wuxi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, practitioners regularly provide consultations and training. They apply distinctive Longsha medicine methods to treat angiocardiopathy, digestive disorders, gynecological conditions, blood diseases, tumors, rheumatism, and provide services for disease prevention.
