On July 9th,

 the direct flight route from Nanjing to Paris was officially launched. 

At 7:30 am on July 10th, 

the first direct flight from Paris to Nanjing landed. 

245 inbound passengers smoothly entered the country

 and began their journey in China.

The newly launched direct flight from Nanjing to Paris is the first passenger route connecting Nanjing with a core European aviation hub in recent years. The opening of this route not only builds a convenient air bridge for the travel of Chinese and French tourists, but also adds fuel to the inbound tourism market.

"It took me only about 11 hours to travel from Paris to Nanjing. The airport here offers a great experience and the entry process is very convenient. This is my first time visiting Nanjing. I know that the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and Confucius Temple in Nanjing are internationally renowned. I definitely want to visit them when I have the chance."

At 8:06, in the international arrival area on the first floor of Nanjing Luoyangqiao International Airport, French tourist Yidan, carrying a backpack, was the first to exit the entrance passage.

"Dear friend, it's so nice to see you!" A tall French woman, speaking fluent Chinese, warmly embraced the Nanjing friend who came to pick her up. She was French Sinologist Sophie. This time she came to Nanjing to attend the 7th International Symposium on Literary Translation by Sinologists, which was held in Nanjing in late July. Sophie specially came here more than ten days earlier, planning to visit various scenic spots with her Chinese friends.

"Upon landing, we immediately felt the warmth of Nanjing!" 

Opposite the exit of the international arrival area is the "Water Rhythm Jiangsu" Tourism Information Service Center. On the large screen, the promotional video of Nanjing's city has been scrolling continuously, attracting many French tourists to stop and watch. The person in charge of the External Exchange and Cooperation Department of the Nanjing Culture and Tourism Bureau and the staff who had been waiting here together presented them with unique cultural and creative souvenirs from Nanjing - a "Poetic Rhythm Nanjing" booklet featuring paper-cut designs of well-known Nanjing scenic spots/museums such as the Confucius Temple and Nanjing Museum, as well as an English version of the Nanjing tourist map. They were also very considerate and gave them the "Enjoy Nanjing Card" jointly launched by Nanjing Mobile and Nanjing Culture and Tourism, which is specially tailored for inbound tourists. With this card, tourists in Nanjing and throughout China can choose different package options such as 7 days, 15 days, or 30 days during their trip, as well as some conveniences like scanning to order and settle bills at key scenic spots, and making reservations on-site at some places. 


This summer, inbound tourism to Nanjing is booming

On July 3rd, the 2025 WTI Youth International Camp kicked off at Nanjing Wild Adventure International Camp. On July 12th, Nanjing Weiyi School will also launch the second batch of international camp activities. During the 10-day, 9-night camp period, more than 60 teenagers from nearly 10 countries such as Russia, Austria, and France, along with 70 Chinese teenagers, will immerse themselves in experiencing the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
Next, Nanjing will welcome more overseas youth study tours. For example, the 2025 "Family Affection China · Chinese Roots Quest" summer camp in Jiangsu Nanjing "Wendu Little Ambassadors" theme camp, the campers will be 36 overseas Chinese youth from countries such as Ireland, Spain, South Korea, and the Netherlands, as well as the team leader teacher. During the summer vacation, China Travel Service (Jiangsu) International Travel Agency will organize over 300 people of the "Same Roots, Same Heart" theme study tours to Hong Kong and Taiwan to come to Nanjing.

In addition, from July to August, a number of key inbound travel agencies such as Jiangsu Kanghui International Convention and Exhibition Co., Ltd., China Travel Service (Jiangsu) International Travel Agency, and Jiangsu Jinqiao International Travel Agency will also organize over 110 inbound groups to Nanjing, with guests coming from Europe, Southeast Asia and other places. 


Since the beginning of this year, 

Nanjing has made multi-dimensional efforts

 in the inbound tourism market 

through policy incentives, resource promotion, 

and cooperation expansion. 

The results have been remarkable.

On June 12th, the Nanjing Culture and Tourism Bureau and the Municipal Finance Bureau jointly issued the "Ten Measures for Promoting the Development of Inbound Tourism in Nanjing", starting from three aspects: expanding diverse inbound tourist markets, strengthening inbound tourism promotion, and improving inbound tourism service quality. They formulated 10 measures and offered "real money" incentives to travel agencies to attract tourists to Nanjing. For example, travel agencies that conduct independent outbound business can receive a maximum reward of 500,000 yuan. This effectively stimulated market vitality.
Actively expanding cross-regional cooperation and forming a "combined force". For instance, in March this year, an inbound tourism cooperation meeting was held in Shanghai, inviting key inbound tourism agencies from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, etc. to discuss development. In June, a group of key inbound tourism enterprises in Nanjing signed cooperation agreements with representatives of travel agencies from key ports such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Xi'an, Guilin, and Zhangjiajie, jointly bringing more tourists to Nanjing.

Actively "going out" to tell "Nanjing stories" globally. Since the beginning of this year, Nanjing Culture and Tourism has participated in the 2025 IMEX Frankfurt Conference and the Incentive Tourism Exhibition in Germany, carried out cultural heritage and food experience activities in Latvia and Hungary, and participated in the ITB Travel Exhibition in Berlin, Germany. Online, through the global social media accounts of Nanjing Culture and Tourism, content is continuously updated, accelerating the pace of global "fan growth"; on the Ctrip overseas platform, a "Nanjing Culture and Tourism Inbound Tourism Special Topic" activity was launched, covering entertainment experiences, ticket reservations, etc., allowing global tourists to easily embark on a trip to Nanjing. 

The enhancement of the aviation hub level in Nanjing has provided a solid foundation for the development of inbound tourism

Since the beginning of this year, all units at Nanjing's airport have been focusing on continuously improving the comprehensive aviation logistics support capabilities and the hub level, actively improving contingency plans, optimizing customs clearance procedures, and enhancing the customs clearance experience, achieving remarkable results. Currently, Nanjing has launched 24 international and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan passenger routes.

This year, inbound tourism in Nanjing has shown a significant increase. Data from the Nanjing Culture and Tourism Bureau shows that in the first half of this year, Nanjing received 302,100 inbound overnight tourists, an increase of 30.2%; and achieved 456 million US dollars in tourism foreign exchange income, an increase of 21.1%.

The opening of the direct flight route from Paris to Nanjing has added another "spark" to the continuous heating of the inbound tourism market in Nanjing. The person in charge of the Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Department of the Nanjing Culture and Tourism Bureau said that in the future, they will take the opening of the direct flight route and the entry visa-free policy as an opportunity to increase cooperation with the French cultural and tourism industry, attract more French tourists and European tourists to Nanjing for in-depth tourism, continuously boost the inbound tourism market, promote the development of the city's tourism economy, and expand tourism consumption.
