XinjiangOn the 41st anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Urumqi, China and Peshawar, Pakistan, Ahmad Kundi, a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and parliamentary leader of the Pakistan People's Party, paid a second visit to Urumqi City, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region after 11 years.
The revisit left him deeply touched. Today's Urumqi is dotted with high-rises and boasts complete road networks and all kinds of infrastructure, having witnessed earth-shaking transformations. Xinjiang has made vigorous strides in poverty alleviation and safeguarding women's rights and interests, whose fruitful development achievements and practical experience inspired him greatly and won his constant praise.

He made this special trip to attend the anniversary celebration of the sister-city relationship and conduct field visits and exchanges for experience-sharing. Looking ahead, he plans to facilitate regular mutual visits between businessmen, scholars and young students from both sides. Relying on the Belt and Road Initiative and deeper economic and trade cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, Pakistan can leverage China's advanced technologies to upgrade its industries and continuously strengthen ties between the two regions.
He said: "Pakistan and China are the iron brothers. We are really proud of Chinese friendship, so we are just praying for this friendship and we want this friendship to be stronger."
