Wear Hanfu to Explore This Pink Floral Wonderland for Free

May 10, 2025

Beijing  2025.05.01 - 2025.06.02

Recently, the 2,000-mu expanse of smoke trees at Pofengling in Beijing's Fangshan District has bloomed, with a mist-like sea of pink flowers stretching across the mountains. National Geographic has hailed it as "North China's most spectacular smoke tree viewing area".
The 8th Youlan Mountain Smoke Tree Flower Festival will take place at Pofengling from May 1 to June 2. During the event, visitors wearing standard Hanfu (including shoes and headwear) can enjoy free admission.

The 6-kilometer hiking trail is draped in a pink floral haze. At viewpoints like Yingzui Rock and Yunhu Lake, every snapshot captures the magic of "strolling through a living painting".
The scenic area's cultural market is open to visitors. At the Huangshan site, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall offers traditional experiences such as ancient rubbing techniques, movable-type printing, pitch-pot games, chuiwan (an ancient ball game), and mushe (traditional target practice).

At the Youlan Mountain Fairy Tale Forest Scenic Area, the park artfully leverages the hillside topography to craft a five-tiered play space. Each level features distinct themes, interconnected by water features, floral paths, and slides. From the water play zone to the petting zone, every tier hides enchanting secrets steeped in the magic of childhood.

On the first level, the shallow water play pool and dining area are ideal for summer escapes. Children can splash around, catch fish or dig for treasures in the sand, while parents can relax in the shade with coffee and mountain views, savoring joyful family moments together.

Perched halfway up the mountainside in Pofengling Scenic Area, the stone-clad Pofeng Café is embraced by rolling peaks. Featuring a timber walkway, stone slab roof, and dotted canopies, its 270-degree mountain-view terrace blends coffee aromas with panoramic views of lush mountains and seas of smoke tree blooms—every snapshot captures cinematic charm.

Are you ready to embrace this early-summer exclusive pink romance?
