Suzhou officially entered meteorological spring on March 11, according to the latest update from the Suzhou Meteorological Observatory. The city is now embraced by flowers eagerly peeking out. The 2026 Suzhou Flower Show kicked off at Suzhou Shangfangshan National Forest Park 苏州上方山国家森林公园 (Suzhou Botanical Garden) on March 20. It will last through April 20, spanning 32 days.

The flower show builds upon the natural landscape of Shangfangshan Mountain and blends authentic scenery with water features. With a spring floral theme, it showcases a fully upgraded floral display. The flower show is divided into six distinct zones: the Welcome Area, Windmill Lawn Area, Floral Pavilion Area, Leisure Island Area, Avant-Garde Design Area, and Home Gardening Area. Through a well-planned layout, it harmoniously integrates natural landscapes with modern horticulture, presenting a vibrant springtime panorama.

This year, the Windmill Lawn Area has been fully upgraded, featuring over a hundred tulip varieties arranged in a stunning blend of mass planting and mixed planting techniques, creating a vibrant spring floral tapestry. The romantic cherry blossoms intertwine with dazzling tulips, composing a spring-exclusive painting.

This year's edition has introduced a brand-new photo spot, the Wooden Boardwalk Flower Field. The winding wooden walkway is adorned with blooming purple-leaf plum blossoms, creating a dreamy canopy overhead. As visitors stroll along the boardwalk, they can feel the rustic texture underfoot while being showered by a romantic "petal rain" of the flower.

This year, the newly debuted Leisure Island Area will stand out as the most artistic highlight of the flower show. Leveraging the park's largest water landscape, designers have creatively crafted a vertical flower sea, allowing blooms to "rise" from the ground and form a three-dimensional visual spectacle intertwined with the aquatic scenery. Even more captivating is the zone's Monet-inspired garden, where water lilies float gently on the surface, irises adorn the shores, and soft-hued flowers harmonize with their reflections in the water. Every step reveals a scene reminiscent of an Impressionist masterpiece.

The Floral Pavilion Area is undoubtedly the star attraction for photos! This year's highlight is the hydrangea wall design. A breathtaking expanse of blooming hydrangeas in shades of blue, purple, pink, and white blankets the wall, creating an immersive visual spectacle.

Even more stunning is the multicolored "flower waterfall" cascading from the second floor, which brilliantly blends modern artistry with traditional Chinese architecture.
