On July 22, the Longemont Animal World in Dadong District opened the largest indoor professional live insect ecological pavilion in Shenyang. This pavilion is the only one in Shenyang that offers a comprehensive theme of animal science popularization featuring large rare animals and live insects throughout the year.
This upgraded immersive live insect ecological science popularization scene, based on the close-range science popularization of over 80 kinds of large wild animals, has added the one-stop study and research experience for 365-day cultivation and science popularization of the insecta. The pavilion has set up exhibition areas such as "Odonata Hydroponic Zone" and "Lepidoptera Breeding Zone", with more than 3,000 insects across over 1,000 species. Special scenes such as "Butterfly Flying" and "Giant Specimen Photogenic Wall" have also been created.
The inaugural exhibition mainly features lepidoptera and coleoptera. Here, you can find the colorful morpho butterflies, the giant beetles from the African rainforest, and the Asian mantises. Over 1,000 species of insects are gathered here. Whether it's a rare species or a common yet mysterious insect, you can find them all here.
Unlike traditional exhibitions, this pavilion adopts an immersive exhibition concept. Through realistic ecological settings and ultra-close interactive devices, the pavilion highly restores the original habitats of insects. Visitors can not only observe the living habits of live insects up close, but also get intimate contact with these little creatures of nature through various forms such as touching and interaction, embarking on a unique insect exploration journey.
