Recently, the first Chengdu Metro luggage lockers have been launched at Dongjiao Memory Station and Panda Avenue Station. After passengers store their luggage by simply scanning a QR code with their phone, choosing a locker, and completing their payment, they can enjoy truly luggage-free travel in Chengdu.

A total of 30 lockers have been installed in the first phase, available in various sizes—large, medium, and small—to accommodate suitcases, backpacks, and handbags. The luggage storage service operates in line with metro service hours. An hour before the station closes, the locker system will automatically send reminders to passengers who have not yet collected their belongings, ensuring attentive care for the safety of personal property.

The two pilot stations selected by Chengdu Metro are located in core cultural tourism areas with high visitor traffic and the strongest demand for luggage storage. Chengdu Metro is making expedited efforts to introduce another round of pilot stations, with priority given to transportation hubs, core business districts, and popular tourist attractions. Additionally, its technical team is considering same-city luggage delivery, integrated convenience services, and other upgraded services.

To further enhance the travel experience for visitors to Chengdu, Chengdu Metro has introduced a range of services in addition to the luggage storage service, such as foreign bank card payment, bilingual volunteers, direction guidance notes, and bilingual wayfinding signs in Chinese and English. These efforts have ensured residents and visitors a genuine experience of Chengdu’s warmheartedness.
