The first thematic museum on geosciences in western China and the largest natural history museum in southwestern China, Chengdu Natural History Museum houses nearly 70000 collections and about 10000 exhibits displayed across six permanent halls and two temporary halls. Among its valuable exhibits are the fossils of Mamenxi Dinosaurs, Dazhu Fish and pieces of iron meteorite found in Longchang.
