At the Nanjing Jiangbei New District International Investment Cooperation Promotion Conference held last week, Nanjing Yangtze State-owned Investment Group and Perennial Holdings (Singapore) signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Jiangsu Province's first wholly foreign-owned comprehensive tertiary hospital will be located in Nanjing Jiangbei New District, settling within the "Vertical Forest," injecting new international medical momentum into this innovative hotbed.
Headquartered in Singapore, Perennial Holdings is a comprehensive conglomerate integrating real estate and healthcare, with extensive experience in developing and operating large-scale healthcare projects. Previously, Jiangbei New District established a dedicated task force and organized expert demonstrations, continuously tracked the project, and finally reached the signing after multiple rounds of research and negotiations.
The Vertical Forest is situated north of Pukou Avenue, adjacent to the Yingtian Street Yangtze River Tunnel, offering convenient transportation. Currently, the building facade is already covered with trees and greenery, appearing from a distance like a "green lighthouse" growing out of the city.
The entry of Perennial Holdings (Singapore) will bring international medical operation models, advanced management experience, and patient-centered services, providing high-quality, diversified medical services for residents of Nanjing and the Nanjing Metropolitan Circle.
In the future, this hospital nestled by the Yangtze River within the Vertical Forest will be more than just a place for healing. It is set to become a "health living room" that promotes international medical cooperation and leads a healthy lifestyle. Receiving treatment here will not only be a visual delight but also the best practice of the internationally advanced concept of "environmental therapy."
On November 29, 2024, the National Health Commission, Ministry of Commerce, National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and National Disease Control and Prevention Administration jointly issued the Work Plan for Expanding Openness in Pilot Areas of Wholly Foreign-Owned Hospitals. Nanjing is among the first cities permitted to establish wholly foreign-owned hospitals (excluding Traditional Chinese Medicine hospitals and excluding acquisitions of public hospitals).
As the only national-level new district in Jiangsu province, Jiangbei New District takes the lead in trials to expand the opening-up of the service sector and attract international high-end factors, fully committed to building a globally influential service industry open hub.
Moving forward, the new district will continue to focus on investment promotion, aiming to inject continuous momentum into high-quality development with more precise positioning, a more open attitude, and superior services.
