Recently, Beijing unveiled the multilingual Beijing Departure Tax Refund Guide (the Guide for short) along with a digital map pinpointing departure tax refund-eligible stores across the city, making shopping more convenient for inbound tourists.
The Guide is available in seven languages – Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, French, Russian, and Mongolian – and offers step-by-step visual instructions. Through a combination of texts and infographics, it clearly states the requirements for getting refunds, application procedures, and answers to FAQs.
To boost accessibility, printed guides and QR codes linking to the digital map are now available at key arrival points, including "Beijing Service" counters and the convenience payment service centers for overseas travelers at both airports. The Beijing Municipal Tax Service is also ensuring these materials are distributed across major commercial areas and international hotels.
