School Introduction 

Shijiazhuang Foreign Language Education Group (referred to as Shiwai Group) is composed of four independent legal entities: Shijiazhuang Foreign Language School (public), Shijiazhuang Second Foreign Language School (non-profit private school), Shijiazhuang Foreign Language Primary School (non-profit private school), and Shijiazhuang Second Foreign Language School Affiliated Kindergarten (non-profit private kindergarten). Shiwai Group has taken the lead in forming a group education pattern with a consistent foreign language education system of 15 years in kindergartens, primary schools, junior high schools, and high schools throughout the province. The management model of Shiwai Group is the principal responsibility system under the leadership of the group party committee, adhering to the principles of "unified management of party building, independent legal person education, consistent training objectives, and sharing of high-quality resources.". At present, Shiwai Group has a total of 13139 students and 1113 faculty members. Four highlights of education:
First is to adhere to the characteristic education of foreign languages and serve the national strategy of opening up talents to the outside world. The school offers six languages, including English, Japanese, Russian, German, French, and Spanish, making it one of the most diverse foreign language schools in the country. Foreign teachers are hired year-round to teach oral English. As a recommended foreign language school for national ordinary university admissions determined by the Ministry of Education, 36% of high school seniors are admitted by domestic "Double First Class" universities every year. In recent years, Tsinghua University and Peking University have admitted about 3.5% of high school seniors, and 985 universities have admitted about 97% of recommended students. 

The second is to adhere to the simultaneous development of the five educations and12 comprehensively implement quality education. Shi Wai always adheres to using courses to ensure the comprehensive development of students in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. It has constructed a curriculum system that emphasizes the five aspects of education, including "facing the whole, developing comprehensively, and highlighting characteristics". It has developed 52 school-based courses, including moral education, physical education, art, labor, and comprehensive practice. Among them, 11 school-based moral education courses include Party courses (Party history, New China history, reform and opening up history, and socialist development history), People's Congress system courses, 6 themed moral education courses (patriotism, communication, cooperation, civilization, health, and innovation), "I Love Shijiazhuang" social practice courses, simulated juvenile court courses, and sunshine small podium volunteer teaching courses. 12 school-based sports courses include football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, aerobics, gymnastics, martial arts, swimming, skating, skiing, and athletics. 15 art school-based courses include erhu, violin, electronic organ, singing, dance, drama performance, music maker, music appreciation, sketch, calligraphy, Chinese painting, printmaking, Paper Cuttings, design and application, and art appreciation. 14 labor practice school-based courses include vegetable planting, flower planting, traditional pastry, home cooked dishes, sewing, woodworking, robotics, artificial intelligence, aircraft models, drones, general technology, modern agricultural technology, 3D printing technology, and laser carving technology. These courses are mandatory in junior high school and elective in high school. Sports, art, and labor practice venues and courses are open to students for free in urban school youth palaces during holidays. This practice has attracted high attention from the Central Propaganda Department and has13 been promoted nationwide. 

Thirdly, we will adhere to open education and extensively engage in international educational exchanges and cooperation. Shiwai has always adhered to open education and has been engaged in friendly exchanges with Iowa for 26 years since 1997. Teachers and students have participated in commemorative activities for the 30th and 35th anniversary of the friendship between Hebei Province and Iowa. At present, the school has established friendly inter school relationships with 203 schools in 22 countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Finland, Germany, Spain, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, South Africa, Zambia, Qatar, India, Costa Rica, etc. On the basis of establishing friendly schools in 2014, Shi Waiwai initiated the establishment of the Global Basic Education Research Alliance, with the aim of building a global basic education research platform; Carry out international cooperation and exchanges in basic education; Promote basic education reform and innovation; Serve the sustainable development of human society. The headquarters of the alliance is located in Shijiazhuang, and its member schools come from 128 foreign schools in 16 countries. As the chairman school of the alliance, Shiwai holds an international education forum (annual meeting) every year in Shiwai, focusing on basic education hot topics of common concern to countries around the world. During the period from 2014 to 2022, seven international education forums were successfully held, and alliance meetings were not interrupted during the global pandemic. For example, in November 2021, the sixth annual meeting of the Global Basic Education Research Alliance with the theme of "Redefining Learning" was successfully held online. 31 guests from 14 countries, including the United14 Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Denmark, gave 24 keynote speeches, 630000 domestic and foreign education colleagues watched online, and a reporter from Xinhua News Agency gave a half page in-depth report titled "Understanding the Trends of Basic Education under the Global Epidemic" in Reference News, with electronic views exceeding one million people. In recent years, the Alliance Forum has received 103 congratulatory letters from foreign governors, mayors, and legislators, and the international influence of the Alliance continues to expand.
