Here, foreign experts visited Saihanba Exhibition Hall and Saihanba Machinery Forest Farm, enjoyed the beautiful scenery of this "green pearl" and listened to green mile where the desert turned into a beautiful forest.
Saihanba Mechanical Forest Farm in Hebei Province is the largest plantation in the world and a vivid example of promoting the construction of ecological civilization in China. More than 60 years ago, Saihanba was once a plateau desert. For more than 60 years, generations of Saihanba builders have planted trees with perseverance, and now the forest coverage rate has reached 82%.
In Saihanba Exhibition Hall, foreign experts got a comprehensive understanding of the vicissitudes of Saihanba mechanical forest farm from yellow sand and withered plants to millions of acres of artificial forests through rich historical materials, physical exhibits and multimedia presentations. The touching stories of hard work and selfless dedication of forest farm builders touched every foreign expert who visited.
"If I use one word to describe this forest, I will say' miracle'. It is a miracle of struggle and a miracle of innovation. " Maria, a foreign expert in Spain, lamented, "The local government has invested huge resources, including scientific and technological resources and human resources, and many people have made great sacrifices to turn the impossible into reality." Leah believes that in today's declining global forest resources, the builders of Saihanba have cultivated the world's largest plantation under harsh climatic conditions, which not only makes people more optimistic when looking forward to the future, but also sets an example for green development for all countries in the world.
Spanish expert Adria Disca Fernando had a long exchange with China experts when the experts explained the modern construction and scientific and technological innovation of forest farms.
Adria is a researcher at the National Research Center for Ecology and Forestry Application in Spain. Because his research fields are remote sensing and global ecology, he is particularly looking forward to visiting Saihanba. He inquired in detail about the latest technological achievements in forest cultivation and forest protection in Saihanba, and expressed surprise at the large-scale artificial afforestation in Saihanba. In an interview with reporters, Adria said: "With the help of science and technology, Saihanba Mechanical Forest Farm has achieved efficient forest management. From planting to maintenance, every link embodies the power of science and technology, and the successful experience is worth learning. In the future, I am very willing to conduct further exchanges and cooperation with Hebei and Saihanba.
