Baoding No.2 Central Hospital

Baoding No.2 Central Hospital is a medical institution directly under the Baoding Municipal Health Commission, located in Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province. The hospital was formerly known as the Fourth Rear Hospital of the North China Military Region of the People's Liberation Army of China. In December 1953, it was jointly named as the "Second Rehabilitation Hospital of Hebei Province" by the People's Government of Hebei Province and the Hebei Military Region of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. It is under the leadership of the Rehabilitation Hospital Administration of the Department of Health of Hebei Province. Its main task is to treat tuberculosis patients (recuperators) in the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Chinese People's Volunteers. In May 1965, the hospital was transferred to the leadership of the Baoding Special Zone. In January 1970, the hospital was renamed as the Fourth Hospital of Baoding District. Since then, with the change of work tasks, the 176 hospital has continuously improved the setting of professional departments, increased diagnosis and treatment projects and expanded the service function and scope on the basis of retaining the special characteristics of tuberculosis treatment. We have achieved a comprehensive transition from specialized hospitals to comprehensive hospitals.

The hospital currently covers a total area of 114.76 acres, including 63.41 acres of business land. It has outpatient buildings, inpatient north buildings, inpatient west buildings A and B, inpatient south buildings (leased), emergency buildings, medical technology buildings, comprehensive buildings, training buildings, and employee activity centers. The hospital has 21 administrative and logistics departments, 36 clinical departments, and 15 medical technology departments.

The hospital has 870 designated beds and 1036 actual open beds; There are currently 1582 employees, including 1421 health technicians, 4 doctoral students, 161 master's students, 286 senior professional titles, and 693 intermediate professional titles.

In recent years, the hospital has continuously strengthened the construction of key specialties and disciplines. There are currently 12 "Baoding City level Medical Key Specialties", including Neurology, Oncology, Critical Care Medicine, Pediatrics, Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology, Emergency Department, Respiratory, Cardiology, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, and 177 Orthopedics; 14 key medical disciplines at the municipal level in Baoding, including neurology, respiratory medicine, thoracic surgery, dermatology and sexually transmitted diseases, gynecology, gastroenterology, nutrition, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, neonatology, neurosurgery, anesthesia, and ultrasound medicine.

It is currently an affiliated hospital of Chengde Medical College, responsible for undergraduate clinical theory teaching tasks. It is also a teaching hospital of Hebei Medical University, Hebei North University, Cangzhou Medical College, Shijiazhuang Medical College, and a clinical training base for general medicine in Hebei Province, with more than 200 clinical teachers. In the past three years, we have trained nearly 800 medical graduates and over 60 general practitioners.

In 2023, the hospital completed 3 scientific research projects approved by the Provincial Health Commission and 14 projects approved by the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau; Completed 26 scientific and technological achievement acceptance tests; 6 scientific research projects have won awards, including 3 second prizes and 3 third prizes of the Provincial Medical Science and Technology Award. Participated in one project commissioned by the Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine, undertook three clinical trials of drugs/devices, and published 21 core journal papers.

The hospital is currently a national level chest pain center, a national level advanced stroke center construction unit, a national level respiratory and critical care medical department (PCCM) standardized construction standard unit, and a Baoding city critical pregnant women and newborns treatment center. At the same time, we will build a comprehensive service model based on multidisciplinary cooperation, establish a multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment center for diabetes and gastroesophageal reflux disease, and promote the construction of VTE prevention and control system throughout the hospital.
