More than 3,000 trail runners gathered on last Sunday in the coastal city of Qinhuangdao, Hebei province, for the 2026 China Mountain Trail Open in Funing district.
The race, also named the Bingtangyu Great Wall Trail Run, featured four distances ranging from 5 to 50 kilometers, blending elite competition with public participation. The 50-km and 30-km categories drew many of China's top trail runners, according to the organizers.

The course started and finished at the Bairun Military Expo Park, winding through scenic spots including Shengding Mountain, Yanshan Stone Forest, Xiliang Valley, and Huangniu Valley.
Organizers said the event, themed "Climb Yanshan Mountains, Cross the Great Wall, View the Sea", offered participants a chance to push their limits while taking in dramatic landscapes of mountains, ancient fortifications, and coastal vistas.
