Zhangjiakou: Passion Ignites at 10th Chongli 50km International Trail Race with 2,000 Runners

June 22nd marked the launch of the 10th Chongli 50km International Trail Race at Cuiyun Mountain Tourist Resort, where 2,000 runners gathered to witness the grand opening of this international sporting event. This year’s competition featured four race categories—50km, 35km, 25km, and 10km—alongside a fun run. The course traversed Cuiyun Mountain’s most challenging terrains, with a total elevation gain exceeding 2,500 meters, offering both breathtaking scenery and formidable tests for participants.

To provide high-quality and efficient services for runners, Chongli District made meticulous arrangements by strategically setting up supply stations, medical aid points, and race guidance personnel. Every effort was made to refine and perfect all logistical support, ensuring participants could safely enjoy the race while fully experiencing the charm of this Winter Olympics town.
The Chongli 50km International Trail Race is a premier local sporting event meticulously developed by Chongli District. First held in autumn 2015, the race was honored as "Hebei Province's Model Sports Project" in December 2020 and recognized as "Zhangjiakou's Premium Sporting Event of 2022." With its certification by the International Trail Running Association (ITRA), the event has gained growing popularity among trail running enthusiasts over its nine-year history.
In recent years, leveraging its abundant natural resources and Olympic legacy, Chongli District has seized major opportunities in post-Games economic development and the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Sports Culture Tourism Belt initiative. Using sporting events as a platform, the district has fostered deep integration between outdoor sports and eco-tourism, injecting new momentum into regional high-quality development.
