International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University (ISM) operates as a subsidiary college under the administration of Zhejiang University. It is poised to evolve into a premier institution for higher medical education, aligned with the national Belt and Road initiative. The school is led by Dean Huang Hefeng, an esteemed academician from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a renowned expert in reproductive medicine.
International Institutes of Medicine, Zhejiang University (IIM) serves as a hub for scientific research support and translational medicine research. Spanning an area of 40,000 square meters, it functions as the Belt and Road international cooperation base for the National Center of Technology Innovation in Biopharmaceuticals. Recognized as one of the first batch of new provincial-level R&D institutions in Zhejiang Province, IIM includes the Zhejiang Engineering Research Center for Future Pathology and Postdoctoral Workstations. It has established an international and cutting-edge research team, focusing on “5+X” disciplines: Reproductive Medicine, Oncology, Regeneration and Aging Medicine, Global Health, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. The institute has developed several specialized centers, including those for Reproductive Medicine, RNA Medicine, Oncology Medicine, Regeneration and Aging Medicine, Metabolic Medicine, and Genomics Medicine. The International School of Medicine and the International Institutes of Medicine at Zhejiang University, together with the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZJU4H), form a strategic alliance to build a world-class international medical center. ZJU4H is a provincial, comprehensive, tertiary class-A hospital that seamlessly integrates medical services, education, and research. Directly affiliated with Zhejiang University, ZJU4H boasts a planned capacity of 4,300 beds. It ranks in the top 5% of tertiary public hospitals in China and has the distinction of being the youngest hospital in the country to receive this recognition.
Focusing on addressing national strategic priorities and implementing the double first-class initiatives based on the century-old characteristics of Zhejiang University, this tripartite model is designed to establish an internationally recognized, innovative, and research-driven institute for advanced medical education. The primary goal of this alliance is to explore how local internationalization can spur innovation in medical science. It also seeks to embark on a novel educational journey that prioritizes global engagement and collaboration.

【Eligibility】
To be eligible for the GDE program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Have a good understanding of Chinese culture and values, and agree with the spirit and core values of Zhejiang University.
2. Have made outstanding academic achievements and great international academic influence.
3. Winners of prestigious awards in their respective fields, including but not limited to the Nobel Prize, Fields Medal, Turing Award, Lasker Medical Research Award, Pulitzer Prize, and Wolf Prize; academicians in major developed countries; full professors from top universities or leading disciplines; scholars working at prominent international organizations, and have received prestigious teaching awards or published best-selling textbooks.
