General Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Primary Art Teacher to join our dynamic arts faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a creative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate art curriculum to primary-aged students (Grades 1–5) within an international bilingual school setting. This role involves fostering students’ artistic skills, visual literacy, and creative expression, while also contributing to the broader school community.
Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality art lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum framework (IB PYP philosophy preferred)
Inspire creativity and self-expression through a variety of media, techniques, and artistic traditions
Assess, document, and report on student progress in line with school policies
Collaborate with homeroom and specialist teachers to integrate art across the curriculum where appropriate
Prepare student work for displays, exhibitions, and school-wide art events
Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating art learning environment
Participate in curriculum development, professional learning communities, and school activities
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues in a multicultural setting
Qualifications:
Currently residing in China (local hire)
Minimum 3 years of full-time primary art teaching experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
Teaching qualification (e.g., teaching license, QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) preferred
Demonstrated stable employment history with clear career progression
Proficiency in English (spoken and written) as the medium of instruction
Strong classroom management and lesson differentiation skills
