Responsibilities:
1. Teaching and Learning:
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, inquiry-based lessons in Psychology for assigned grade levels (IGCSE/A-Level,MYP,IB Psychology).
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs, interests, and language abilities of a multicultural student body.
Foster a positive, supportive, and challenging classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, discussion, and a passion for the subject.
Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and educational technology to enhance student learning and engagement.
Develop and administer formative and summative assessments that effectively measure student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
2. Curriculum and Assessment:
Contribute to the development, review, and enhancement of the Psychology curriculum in alignment with [e.g., IB, IGCSE, AP] standards and the school’s philosophy.
Ensure accurate and reliable internal assessment of student work, including the supervision of [e.g., IB Internal Assessments or AP course requirements].
Prepare students thoroughly for external examinations.
3. Pastoral and Co-curricular:
Serve as a Homeroom Teacher or Advisor, providing pastoral care and academic guidance to a group of students.
Participate actively in the school's co-curricular program by leading or supporting clubs, activities, or service-learning projects.
4. Professional and Community Engagement:
Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the department and across the school.
Maintain regular and professional communication with parents regarding student progress and well-being.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational research and best practices in Psychology education.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a closely related field.
A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Teaching License, Bed).
A minimum of [e.g., 2-3] years of recent, successful experience teaching Psychology at the high school level.
Proven experience teaching [ IGCSE Psychology, A level Psychology].
Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
Strong intercultural competence and a commitment to working in a diverse environment.
