About Company:

The Convention on Exchange of Overseas Talents and Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as “OCS”), formerly known as Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology, has been successfully held for 22 sessions with the strong support of the national host ministries. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), (“HKUST(GZ)”), was officially approved by the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China to enter the preparatory status in September 2019. Located in Nansha, Guangzhou, the campus covers 1.13 square kilometers and the first phase of construction is expected to be completed by September 2022. At steady state, the number of undergraduate and postgraduate students will reach a total of 10,000. Under the “Unified HKUST, Complementary Campuses” framework, the intended areas of focus in HKUST(GZ) will be thematic and cross-disciplinary in nature, synergistic with HKUST, a world-renowned international research university with innovation in her DNA. There will be four Academic Hubs (equivalent to schools) with 16 Thrust Areas (equivalent to departments).

The Information Hub focuses on addressing global challenges arising from human interactions with information and technology in today's era of digital transformation. We are committed to provide world-class education and conduct cutting-edge research with practical applications in information science and technology that not only advance regional development, but also make a global impact. The Hub primarily comprises four thrust areas: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science and Analytics (DSA), Internet of Things (IOT), and Computational Media and Arts (CMA). We will achieve this mission through cross-disciplinary research and education in collaboration with other thrust areas in our Guangzhou campus and related programs in our Clearwater Bay campus.

The New MSc Program in Practical Data Centric AI is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual to provide administrative and operational support to it. The appointee will be responsible for all aspects of the administration and operation of the designated program. The appointee will be stationed in the Mainland, initially in Nansha, Guangzhou.

Job Details:

Responsibilities:

1. Supporting the Program Director in program development, course planning and class scheduling;
2. Coordinating with teaching faculty on course delivery;
3. Liaising with external and internal parties in classroom arrangement; providing administrative, on-site and off-site support to faculty members;
4. Being the student interface to manage student affairs;
5. Performing daily office administrative work and any other duties as assigned;
6. Supporting the marketing and admission process of the program. Handle marketing and promotion for all initiatives internally and externally through printed and digital communications;
7. Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

1. Applicants should have a bachelor's degree with at least one year of post qualification experience, preferably in administering academic programs in academic institutions;
2. Organized and attentive to details, and able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines;
3. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese ;
4. Good data analytical skills and high computer proficiency, including good knowledge of MS Office and Excel Spreadsheet;
5. A strong team player, meticulous and attentive to details; and
6. Good interpersonal and communication skills.

This is a Mainland appointment, and the appointee will be offered a contract by HKUST Mainland entity in accordance with the Mainland labor laws and regulations.
