1. Sourcing & Supplier Management (Guangzhou Base)
• Leverage existing relationships with factories in Guangzhou/Pearl River Delta specializing in fast fashion apparel, accessories, and textiles.
• Source, vet, and onboard new manufacturers capable of handling small-batch, quick-turnaround production for e-commerce.
• Negotiate costs, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms while maintaining quality standards.
• Conduct regular factory visits for production follow-up, quality audits, and capacity assessments.
2. E-commerce Business Coordination
• Collaborate with e-commerce teams to align product assortments with sales forecasts, trends, and inventory plans.
• Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from sampling to bulk delivery, ensuring alignment with online launch calendars.
• Provide accurate and timely product data (costs, specs, lead times) to e-commerce and marketing teams.
3. Export-Import Documentation
• Prepare and manage all export documentation from China (commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, etc.) for shipments
• Coordinate with customs agents, freight forwarders, and compliance teams to ensure smooth clearance.
• Handle documentation for both sea and air shipments, optimizing for cost and speed.
4. Production & Quality Oversight
• Oversee sampling, fit approvals, fabric sourcing, and bulk production in the Guangzhou factory base.
• Implement quality control protocols inline, pre-shipment, and during production.
• Troubleshoot production delays, quality issues, or supply chain disruptions proactively.
5. Communication & Reporting
• Serve as the primary point of contact between China-based suppliers
• Provide regular updates on order status, production timelines, and potential risks.
• Maintain accurate records of costs, supplier performance, and order details.

Qualifications:

Essential
• 3-5 years of experience as a Merchandiser/Product Developer in fast fashion apparel/textiles
• Proven experience managing e-commerce fashion business operations (understanding of online retail cycles, digital catalog requirements, fast inventory turnover).
• Strong knowledge of export documentation (including understanding of customs procedures, and port formalities, overall export requirements).
• Established factory network in and around Guangzhou for fast-fashion categories.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written). Knowledge of Cantonese is a plus.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Guangdong province for factory visits.
Preferred
• Previous work experience with Indian importers/retailers/e-commerce brands.
• Understanding of Indian labeling, testing, and regulatory norms for apparel and textiles.
• Experience with PLM software, ERP systems, or e-commerce inventory tools.
• Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
