Magnecomp Precision Technology PCL (MPT), a TDK group company belonging to the HDD suspension business, was created through the 2005 merger between Magnecomp International Limited and KR Precision Public Company Limited. MPT was then acquired by TDK in 2007. With manufacturing plants located in both Thailand and China and a technology center in California USA, MPT is strategically positioned close to its customers' design and manufacturing centers. MPT offers leading edge innovations in suspension assembly solutions in its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities which currently produce a wide variety of suspensions used as components in HDDs, ranging from single stage actuator suspensions to the latest generation of tristate actuator suspensions, in addition to specialty suspensions used for the manufacturing and testing of HDD components. In addition to MPT’s production of suspensions, the company also handles final processing for smartphone components. MPT also has a subsidiary company specializing in chemical etchings supporting its core business. JOB SUMMARY:
- Perform all Tooling Design activities by integrating advanced technologies, sensors, and mechatronic features to enhance system efficiency and prevent malfunctions. Coordinate with the superior to ensure design commitments meet departmental objectives and are executed smoothly. Deliver efficient, accurate, and reliable tooling solutions through automation and innovative technologies, while optimizing performance and continuously improving tooling standards. Actively participate in tool design and development to provide effective and functional solutions.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive job and work instruction from immediate superior and execute to meet requirements.
- Participate in conceptual and final design reviews and development activities.
- Ensure 100% manufacturability, quality, and accuracy of drawings within established lead times.
- Ensure quality tooling design using simulation and analysis; recommend design improvements based on simulation results.
- Organize and maintain a backup system for all existing drawings.
- Actively participate in tool fabrication, debugging, and failure analysis (FA) processes.
- Provide timely updates and feedback to the superior on all design and development activities.
-Initiate improvement plans and projects for tools, fixtures, simulation, and analysis.
- Stay updated on technical knowledge in design software and all types of tooling and fixtures.
- Maintain work area safety and discipline.
- Keep records of all design jobs and tool history files for future reference.
- Collaborate closely with calleagues in the section and other related departments.
- Perform other duties and assume accountabilities as delegated, including mutually agreed objectives.
Qualifications:
Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical/ Mechatronic, or Post Diploma in Tool design.
Skill Required:
- Tooling Design Expertise: Strong experience in tooling design with comprehensive knowledge of design-related activities, including precision engineering and tolerance analysis.
- Automation & Sensor Integration: Hands-on experience in designing automation systems and integrating sensors for process monitoring and control.
- Design Software Proficiency: Skill in SolidWorks & PDM, Creo & Windchill, AutoCAD
- Programming & Automation Software: Basic knowledge and proficiency in programming languages
and automation-related software for system configuration and troubleshooting.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Solid understanding of tool manufacturing processes and related technologies, ensuring design feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Communication & Leadership: Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Leadership capabilities in managing projects and guiding teams.
- Language Skills: Fluency in written and spoken English for global communication.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years for bachelor's degree holders.
- Minimum 3 years for Post diploma / diploma holders.
