Hubei Province

Nicolas Deschamps, president of the French Association of Co-Producers and an internationally renowned ecological documentary filmmaker, recently visited Shishou City, Hubei Province.

During his visit, Deschamps toured the Shishou Milu National Nature Reserve and Baiji Dolphin National Nature Reserve in Tian'e-zhou wetland, where he gained an in-depth understanding of the progress made under the 10-year fishing ban, wetland restoration initiatives, and rare wildlife conservation programs along the Yangtze River.

In the evening, he walked along the waterfront boardwalk at the scenic Jiangtun Bay, tasted local cuisine and captured the natural beauty of Tian'e-Zhou with his camera. Deeply impressed by Shishou's ecology and hospitality, he remarked, "This is the best-preserve Yangtze wetland I have ever seen."

As a veteran in eco-documentary filmmaking and a dedicated promoter of Sino-French co-productions, Deschamps’ visit will contribute to an upcoming documentary on Yangtze ecology, helping bring the story of the river's conservation to a global audience. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
