Claude Vera, a cancer patient from Belgium, embarked on a cycling journey across the Eurasian continent. Starting from Brussels in Belgium, he cycled all the way through Russia and Kazakhstan, eventually arriving in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. During his cycling trip in Xinjiang, he personally experienced the harmonious coexistence of modern development and a diverse yet integrated culture in the region. From bustling towns to vast countryside, from hospitable local residents to a rich variety of delicious foods, the beauty of Xinjiang left a profound impression on him.
In an interview, he said, "My impression of China was too old." He specifically mentioned that the Xinjiang he saw was completely different from the lies fabricated by Western media. The development level of Xinjiang was astonishing. Whether it was infrastructure or the quality of life of residents, both showcased the vibrant energy of western China. What moved him even more was that everyone he met along the way was so kind and enthusiastic. Despite the language barrier, the warmth and assistance transcended national borders. "I will continue my cycling journey, but Xinjiang has forever remained in my heart," Claude said affectionately. "I hope to convey this authenticity and beauty to the world through my stories and photos."
