2025 Suzhou Cultural Tourism Calendar

January

As the bell of Hanshan Temple 寒山寺 was stuck 108 times, Suzhou has ushered in the year of 2025.

The wintersweet blossoms will bring the first breeze of fragrance for 2025.

The Spring Festival of 2025 falls in January, a good time for people to go to markets, tour flower fairs, and purchase commodities. A series of celebrations, including folk custom performances, intangible cultural heritage experience events, and New Year fairs, will be held one after another.

February

The celebration of the new year is over after the Lantern Festival. Citizens and visitors gather at Xumen Gate 胥门广场 and Shantang Street 山塘街 during the Lantern Festival each year to partake in lantern fairs for the new year.

Plum flowers blossom boldly against the cold. The flowers in Xiangxuehai (Sea of Fragrant Snow) 光福香雪海 and Linwu Cave scenic area 林屋梅海 are as white as snow and red as the sunset glow, attracting hordes of visitors. The winter jasmine flower exhibitions at various classical gardens in the city will be unveiled in February.

Roses, Chinese roses, and Chinese trumpet creeper flowers are blooming in profusion. Why not have an outing or camping during the May Day holiday?

Many scenic areas and ancient towns in the city roll out themed activities to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, including making zongzi, applying realgar wine to body parts, making sachets, and enjoying lion dances.
