On Saturday, May 31, from 8am to 3pm, join us at Guangzhou Elong Hotel (外商艺龙酒店) for a full-day cultural experience that brings together history, tradition, and hands-on fun at the Dragon Boats Invitation Day.

Also known as Zhao Jing (招景), this unique tradition from Guangdong brings entire communities together to invite good fortune, perform rituals, and honor dragon boats through lively parades, ceremonies, and folk culture.

Curious about the origin and meaning of Zhao Jing? 
This immersive event begins with a bilingual cultural introduction to the origins of Dragon Boat Festival and the local Zhao Jing traditions, offering insight into the customs that have shaped this beloved celebration for centuries. 

As the day unfolds, guests will witness a spectacular traditional dragon boat procession along the riverside, accompanied by a colorful folk parade that brings ancient stories to life.

Roam through the folk craft market, where artisans share their skills in herbal sachet-making, grass weaving, and other traditional handicrafts. 
It’s a perfect chance to take home a piece of culture and explore the heart of festival creativity.

One of the day’s sweetest highlights? 
A DIY zongzi station, where you’ll learn how to make your very own rice dumpling, just like generations have done to mark the season.
