The Chu River and Han Street is developed as a project of the first phase of Wuhan Central Cultural Zone. It serves not only as a commercial center but also as a project for historical and cultural development and ecological landscape advancing of the city, which has produced complex economic and social effects. Chu River, 2.2 kilometers in length, connecting the East Lake and the Shahu Lake in Wuhan, is the first of the “lake linking plan” for water network treatment projects approved by State Council of China. Chu River is the soul of the Wuhan's cultural zone, connecting the east and the west ends of Wuhan Central Cultural Zone.
