Recently, the 2026 China Eco-Culture Forum released the list of the first “Top 100 Beautiful China Signature Sites”. Xinglong Lake was successfully included on the list. It is the only “signature site” in Chengdu to be listed.

The 2026 China Eco-Culture Forum was hosted by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment under the theme “Nourishing Clear Waters and Green Mountains through Culture and Building a Beautiful China Together”. The first “Top 100 Beautiful China Signature Sites” are scattered across multiple provinces and cities in China. It aims to encourage the public to tell the stories of a Beautiful China by highlighting a curated selection of visually appealing “signature sites” with strong shareability.
Xinglong Lake
Xinglong Lake covers a total area of 6,500 mu, including 4,500 mu of water surface and more than 45 mu of fully open lawns. To date, approximately 200 bird species have been recorded in the area. The Baer’s pochard, a national first-class protected animal, has spent the winter at Xinglong Lake for years in a row.

The 15.3-kilometer greenway system, the integrated leisurely consumption scenarios, the public facilities for sailing, canoeing, basketball, and other sports… Today, Xinglong Lake stands not only as an eco-park with picturesque scenery but also as a vibrant lifestyle hub that brings together sports, recreation, and socializing.
Across Chengdu, a network of lakes and rivers weaves through the city’s landscape. In addition to Xinglong Lake, Sancha Lake, Dong’an Lake, Qinglong Lake, and other destinations are excellent waterfront retreats worth a visit.
Sancha Lake
Sancha Lake Scenic Area, located in Chengdu Eastern New Area, is dotted with hundreds of islands like “large and small pearls falling on a jade plate”.

Camping, angling, family-friendly activities, water-based activities, and other activities have long been Sancha Lake’s biggest attractions. Without the need to travel far, Chengdu residents can enjoy cable wakeboarding experiences similar to those featured in The World Games 2025 Chengdu.
Dong’an Lake

Dong’an Lake Park features a lake, a loop (a lakeside greenway), 7 islands, 12 scenes, and 24 bridges. Among its unmissable highlights are the Torch Tower, rich with the spirit of ancient Shu civilization; the grand Dong’an Tower, built in the Tang Dynasty style; and the Silver Beach, with its clear water, fine sands, and the shadows of swaying trees.
Qinglong Lake
Qinglong Lake Wetland Park is characterized by its lakes and forests, where flocks of birds rest throughout the area.

The park is an ideal option for cycling and jogging, and a top choice for suburban camping. As the second batch of “scan-to-fly” pilot areas for convenient drone operations has been launched in Sichuan, Qinglong Lake Wetland Park is now open as one of the key pilot areas.

Additionally, within the park lies a hidden gem—Ming Shu Wang Ling (“Ming Shu Kings’ Tombs”).
When time allows, why not choose a lakeside spot for a breezy stroll and enjoy a refreshing, soothing summer day?
