On June 28, 2025 the Oriental Eden, located in Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, opened its doors to visitors, becoming a new landmark in the local cultural and tourism industry. After the summer solstice, Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone marked a new milestone in its cultural and tourism industry development. In addition to Oriental Eden, the Sports Town Water World, located south of the Qingdao Citizen Fitness Center Sports Stadium, grandly opened on June 21. Since its soft opening, it has hosted more than 10,000 visitors, adding new momentum to the development of the cultural and tourism industry in Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

Oriental Eden is located at No. 40 Torch Road, Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, backed by the China-Europe International City. With “water” as the main narrative line, it is carefully divided into three major thematic areas, consisting of four major theme halls, one large water play park, one large non-motorized amusement park, one night lake show, dozens of interactive amusement facilities, and nearly 50 creative landscapes. The park integrates themes like water nurturing, water fun, water civilization, and water feedback. Over 20 special performances are held throughout the day, combining Eastern and Western elements, providing visitors with an extraordinary visual experience.

To offer a better entertainment experience, Oriental Eden has carefully planned three thematic routes: Scientific Exploration, Entertainment Frenzy, and Artistic Aesthetics. With clear touring pathways and a rich variety of activities, it offers differentiated, in-depth experiences for visitors of all ages and families. “If you want to explore the scientific mysteries of water, you can choose the Scientific Exploration line, where Rainbow Square unveils the magic of light and water, the Wasteland demonstrates the resilience of life in drought, Ghost Canyon shows the rise and fall of civilizations with water, and finally, at the Water Quality Museum, you can unlock knowledge about water resource protection. Along the way, you can experience the water cycle through a shuttle and feel the natural shocks in a thunderstorm cloud simulation room,” said a representative from Oriental Eden. Visitors who prefer interactive fun can choose the Entertainment Frenzy route. In the Resurrection Tree Forest, they can enjoy the cloud jumping, release energy with the magical spider web, experience salt-making dance at the Salt Field Theater, and operate a water wheel in the Hydraulic Magic Zone. There’s also a 57.4-meter skywalk to challenge. Additionally, water-based projects like the Sky Eye Slide and the Furious Ocean Wave Pool in Mermaid World bring more excitement. The final route is the Artistic Aesthetics Performance Line, where visitors can plan their route based on performance times. Each evening, the Night Lake Show, where water screens and light shadows intertwine, offers an unforgettable experience, blending science, entertainment, and art.

On the opening day, the “Shandong Environmental Science Society Ecological Environment Popular Science Base” was unveiled in the park. In the future, it will use natural ecology as a classroom to provide popular science research and environmental education to the public.

Sports Town Water World Opens, Launching a Summer Water Carnival
Sports Town Water World is a large water park that combines leisure entertainment, water sports, and thrilling challenges, offering 8 categories and 16 water entertainment projects, catering to visitors of all ages.

This year, Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone’s cultural and tourism development has surged. The area has seen a wave of concerts, with a densely packed schedule attracting large numbers of out-of-town fans, adding new excitement to the city and turning the northern shore of Jiaozhou Bay into a national hotspot for music lovers.

In March, the concert by Mao Buyi sold nearly 10,000 tickets, while in May, Hua Chenyu’s Mars concert attracted nearly 50,000 fans. In June, the Phoenix Legend concert marked Qingdao’s first Three-Part stadium concert, drawing over 100,000 fans. By the end of June, 90,000 fans gathered for the Zhou Shen concert in Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. Upcoming concerts include the July 4 and 6 2025 Luhan Season 4 Asia Tour in Qingdao, as well as performances by Stefanie Sun on July 18 and 20, and Wu Bai in September at the Qingdao Citizen Fitness Center Sports Stadium.

The landing of these superstar concerts has rapidly attracted a massive crowd, becoming a powerful lever driving the cultural and tourism industry in Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. For example, Hua Chenyu’s concert generated 1.45 billion RMB in consumer spending, with 19.9% of the 50,000 fans coming from within Qingdao, and 80.1% from outside, with 31.6% from other cities in the province and 48.5% from out-of-province.
