In parks and along most streets and roads in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, varieties of flowering tabebuia chrysantha, bauhinia variegate, kapok, and other trees have entered full bloom as temperatures rise.
Along the 3.2-kilometer stretch of the Shiliugang River (石榴岗河) inside Haizhu wetland in the city's Haizhu district, thousands of bauhinia trees are blooming right on schedule, forming a white and pink flower sea.
Visitors can stroll along the riverbanks, experience the romantic scene of petals fluttering like snow, or take a boat through the emerald waters to fully enjoy the picturesque view of the flower sea on both banks.
The wetland park, a national-level wetland park in the city's Haizhu district, recently launched a flower-themed festival , inviting visitors to witness blossoming bauhinia flowers and other varieties. The festival runs from mid-February to late March.
