Recently, the 2024 edition of the Regulations of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. on Railway Passenger Transport (hereinafter referred to as the Regulations) was released.
In these latest Regulations, restrictions and deadlines for ticket changing have been eased – passengers can now reschedule their tickets bought within the advance-purchase period both before and after the train has departed on the day of the train’s departure. The rescheduling fee is tiered based on the time of the change: a 5-percent fee is charged if the change is made more than 24 hours but less than 48 hours before departure; a 15-percent fee is charged if the change is made within 24 hours before departure; and a 40 percent fee is charged if the change is made after the train has departed.
The Regulations also specify that passengers can obtain a reimbursement receipt at railway ticket office or via automatic ticket machines after purchasing, changing, or canceling and refunding tickets, but the receipt can be issued only once.(Source: China Tourism News)
