Five classical gardens in Suzhou will extend their opening hours this summer to meet the growing demand for night tours, the city's garden and greening bureau announced on Monday.

The five gardens — Tiger Hill 虎丘山风景名胜区 , Couple's Retreat Garden 耦园 , Canglang Pavilion 沧浪亭 , Keyuan Garden 可园 and Yiyuan Garden 怡园 — will remain open until 9 p.m. from July 1 to Aug. 31. Admission will close at 8:30 p.m.
In addition to extended opening hours, classical gardens across the city have introduced a series of activities.
The lotus exhibition at the Humble Administrator's Garden 拙政园 showcases about 2,000 pots of lotuses and water lilies from over 10 provinces in the country. Other exhibitions include the agapanthus exhibition at Shangfang Mountain 苏州上方山国家森林公园 and the orchid exhibition at Canglang Pavilion.

Tiger Hill will hold a summer night tour program from July 1 to Aug. 31, featuring lantern parades, the wooden-bench dragon dance, the lantern dance and other folk performances, as well as a flower market.

Popular night tour programs at the Humble Administrator's Garden and the Master - of - Nets Garden 网师园 will continue throughout the summer.

A tourist bus running between Baimajing Road Bus Terminal 白马泾路首末站[公交站] and Zhouzhuang Ancient Town 周庄东庄停车场[公交站] has been launched in Kunshan recently. Visitors can take the bus after exiting Exit 3 of Baimajing Metro Station on Line 11. The route connects major attractions including Tinglin Garden 亭林园 , Kunshan Urban Ecological Forest Park 昆山市城市生态森林公园 , Jinxi Ancient Town 锦溪古镇 and Zhouzhuang 周庄古镇风景区 . Single-trip tickets cost one to seven yuan depending on the distance. The bus departs Baimajing Terminal at 8:20 a.m. and 9:20 a.m., and leaves Zhouzhuang Dongzhuang Parking Lot at 2:20 p.m. and 3:20 p.m.
