90-minute, Direct high-speed rail launched between Guangzhou's Zengcheng and the Hong Kong SAR

Railway authorities started implementing the new operating schedule from January 5, 2025, introducing two round-trip high-speed rail services between Xintang Station (新塘站) on the Guangzhou-Shanwei High-Speed Railway and the Hong Kong SAR. This mared a significant improvement in travel efficiency and quality, bringing Guangzhou's Zengcheng District into a 90-minute commuting circle with Hong Kong.

With the new schedule, the high-speed rail will operate two daily round trips between Xintang and Hong Kong, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, passing through key hubs such as Dongguan, Shenzhen North, and Futian. The travel time between the two locations will be reduced from 150 minutes to just 90 minutes, offering residents a faster, more comfortable travel option and meeting the public's long-awaited demand for direct connectivity.

Direct high-speed rail service between Guangzhou and Datong city of Shanxi

Province launched

Guangzhou South Railway Station on Sunday launched its first direct high-speed rail service to  Datong city of Shanxi Province, with the departure of the inaugural train G696. With the new service, passengers from Guangzhou can travel to the famous historical city more conveniently.

Guangzhou South Railway Station also launched direct rail services to Huangshan North Railway Station in Anhui Province, Bazhong East Railway Station in Sichuan Province, Wushan Railway Station  and Wanzhou North Railway Station in the city of Chongqing


Direct high-speed trains between downtowns of Guangzhou and Shanghai launched

Travelling from downtown Guangzhou to downtown Shanghai through direct high-speed trains is no longer a dream, with train G1306 towards Shanghai South Railway Station departing from Guangzhou East Railway Station, marking the official launch of rail service between downtowns of two cities.

Previously, high-speed trains from Guangzhou, mainly from the suburban Guangzhou South Railway Station, only stops in the Hongqiao Station of Shanghai, far from the city center. With the new rail service, passengers can get from downtown Guangzhou to downtown Shanghai in 7 and a half hours.


Two direct high-speed rail routes link China's Shaanxi and Hubei with Hong Kong
New high-speed rail services linking Hong Kong with Xi'an and Wuhan, two major cities in China, were officially launched on Sunday, significantly enhancing connectivity between the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Chinese mainland.
Along the route linking Hong Kong with Xi'an, which also stops in Wuhan, a single trip in either direction takes under 11 hours, with other stations located in the provinces of Shaanxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan and Guangdong.
Trains departing from Wuhan take no more than five hours to reach Hong Kong, stopping in the Hunan and Guangdong provinces. Return trains on the route are scheduled to leave Hong Kong at 7:19 a.m. the next day.
The direct train service from Xi'an -- home to the world-famous Terracotta Warriors -- to Hong Kong will make travel between the two cities more convenient, and will also boost cooperation and exchanges in the fields of the economy, trade, talent and culture, according to the China Railway Xi'an Group Co., Ltd.
