Chengyi Technology Exploration Center is a national 4A level tourist attraction, covering an area of 20500 square meters and a building area of 52400 square meters. It is a modern Jiageng style building with four floors above ground and one floor underground. The center showcases the great achievements and future trends of China's scientific and technological development from space to the deep sea, with the theme of "Exploring the Moon in the Nine Heavens and Catching Turtles in the Five Oceans".

The Science and Technology Exploration Center revolves around the four main themes of "aerospace, navigation, natural disasters, and information and communication", with seven exhibition areas and five domestically first core exhibition items, supporting the "Geng Hao Nine" brand commercial, together forming the first indoor large-scale science popularization park in China with "exploration" as the theme. The center successfully held large-scale events such as the China Aerospace 60th Anniversary Achievement Theme Exhibition, the Cross Strait Youth Aerospace Dream Theme Series Activities, the World Education Robot Competition (WER) China South Open, and the Xiamen Youth Fun Science Competition. Aerospace hero Yang Liwei, heroic astronaut Liu Wang, and academician Qi Faren, the chief designer of Shenzhou spacecraft, have all personally visited the Science Exploration Center to carry out science popularization education activities.

As a research and practical education base for primary and secondary school students in Fujian Province, the Science Exploration Center has four major research sections: aerospace and navigation, science and art, psychological science, and disaster prevention and reduction. The center's unique courses such as "Journey to Mars", "Interstellar Migration", "Little Navigator", and "Maritime Silk Road" are popular among primary and secondary school students.
