Two expos on sports culture and tourism kick off in Suzhou

The 2024 edition of the two expos covers an expansive area of about 50,000 square meters and is comprised of four exhibition areas: the Thematic Zone, Sports Culture and Sports Tourism Zone, Unique Sports Zone, and International Zone. Two roadshow promotional zones and four outdoor activity experience zones are also set up. A series of supporting activities will be held during the expos. The two expos have attracted more than 500 exhibitors from home and abroad.The thematic zone presents a collection of over 100 treasured items and 100-plus exquisite works of sports art, offering citizens a great chance to review the remarkable sports achievements China has made over the past 75 years.

The thematic zone especially sets up a Paris Olympics-themed section where citizens can appreciate a plethora of items including medals, outfits worn by medal-winning athletes, the tennis ball signed by Zheng Qinwen, the first Olympic tennis singles champion in Asia, and two gold medals of Sheng Lihao who earned 1st Paris Olympics gold in 10m air rifle mixed team.
Walking into the venue, visitors can experience varied folk customs and features of the country, including Kongzhu, or diabolo popular in Henan province, Morin Khuur, a two-stringed fiddle with a horse-shaped head from Xizang, and dombra dance representative of Xinjiang. A slew of sports associations, including the Chinese Karate Association, Chinese Taekwondo Association, and Chinese Gateball Association, will bring their experience activities to visitors who can also win gifts in the activities.

The two expos will last through October 13. A series of supporting experience activities, including dialogues with Olympic champions, art creations featuring champions, stamp collecting, and sports meetings, will be held on-site, enriching people's sports and cultural life.
