Application of Foreign Nationals for Extension and Renewal of S2 (other personal matters) Visa

Eligible Applicants

Foreign nationals who pay short-term visits to their family members staying in Wuhan for workor study.

Application Materials
(I) Valid passport or other international traveldocuments, includinq cooies of the personalinformation page, the valid visa page, and the visapaqe with the latest entry stamp
(ll) Reqistration Form of Residence for VisitorsFrom Overseas
(lll) Visa/Stay Permit/Residence PermitApplication Form completed in black ink with arecent 2-inch bareheaded, full-face photo on awhite background
(IV) Proof of family relationship or a statementof kinship from the inviter.
(V) Valid passport, visa, and residence permitof the person visited.
(Vl) A letter explaining the kinship.
(Vll) Other application materials required bythe exit and entry administration authority basedon the situation.
Note: All application materials shall besubmitted in their original version forverification along with A4 copies.

Duration of Extended/Renewed Visa
(I) Those who apply for an extension of S2 visamay apply for an extension of no more than 180days.
(I) Those who apply for renewal of S2 visa(including those holding S2 visa who apply foradditional entries) may apply for a zero/single-entry visa valid for up to 3 months with a stay of nomore than 180 days.
(III) For foreign nationals of Chinese origin, the duration of stay may be extended for a period of upto 180 days or a multiple-entry visa valid for up to 5years with a stay duration of up to 180 days can beissued upon presenting supporting documents forprivate affairs and the identification documents offoreign nationals of Chinese origin.

Important Notes
(l) Applicants are required to be interviewed.Those who are under the age of 16, over the age of60, or suffer mobillity issues due to illness or other reasons, or have a good record of previous stay/residence in China may have others file an application on their behalf. However, if the exit andentry administration authority requires aninter view, the applicant must attend it in person.
(II) The extension of visa is valid for the latestentry only and does not affect the number ofentries and validity period of the original visa, Thecumulative extended period of stay shall not exceed the duration of stay specified in the originalvisa, Upon visa renewal, the original visa becomesinvalid.
(III) Supporting documents provided by foreignnationals in languages other than Chinese forapplying for visa/stay permit/residence permitmust be accompanied by a Chinese translationfrom a qualified translation companyin China.
(IV) First-time applicants in China under theage of 18 who are foreign nationals of Chinese origin or overseas Chinese are also required to submit their birth certificate, parents' passports, and proof of residence abroad
(V) Individuals who have not canceled their Chinese household registration must do so before filing an application.

This notification shall be interpreted by the Exiand Entry Administration Department of Wuhan Public Security Bureau.
