
Jiangyin Library was established in 1936. The new library building was completed and opened in 2005, covering approximately 5,100 square meters. It can house 1 million volumes, has 1,200 reader seats, and can serve an average of 4,000 visitors daily.
As an important city cultural facility, the library integrates adult and children's services.
The Jiangyin Children's Library spans 1,500 square meters and features a main service desk, a children's book borrowing section, a picture book room, and an electronic reading area. The adult section includes a comprehensive lending room, a periodicals reading room, a public electronic reading space, a shared project broadcasting room, and a reader study area.
For research visitors, there are reference reading rooms, an ancient books reading room, a local documents room, and a local genealogy exhibition room. It also features a reading room for the visually impaired, a Jiangyin authors' exhibition hall showcasing local academic achievements, an academician corridor, a lecture hall, and an audiovisual classroom.
Opening hours: 9 am - 4:30 pm from Monday to Sunday (1/3F); 9 am - 9 pm from Monday to Sunday (2F).
Note: Monday opening hours are 9 am - 12 pm (open until 9 pm on national holidays).
